Time-Sensitive Applications are the activities online where speed tends to make a dramatic difference in your experience as a customer. Typically these applications are things like sending an email or clicking on a link on the Web, or watching streaming video. In those instances, it’s common that customers are actively waiting for the email to be sent or the page to load. By contrast, non-time-sensitive applications are those activities where users are more likely to “set it and forget it”. For example, if you are uploading a very large file that will take 2 hours to upload, it’s less likely that you will sit at your computer actively waiting for it to complete.
