Barrett Xplore Inc. and New Brunswick Achieve 100 Percent Broadband Availability Goal

January 1, 2010

Woodstock, N.B. – Barrett Xplore Inc. today participated in an event with Premier Shawn Graham in Loon Bay Lodge, N.B. to celebrate the completion of its province-wide Xplornet broadband network ahead of schedule.

“The province of New Brunswick selected our hybrid technology solution – which uses fixed wireless and satellite platforms – to provide 100 percent availability to all New Brunswickers, no matter where they work, play, or live,” said Bill Barrett, Chairman of Barrett Xplore Inc.

“It has long been our belief that only a hybrid-technology solution like the one we offer can truly succeed in providing complete coverage in rural areas, and the response to the service has been tremendous, with one-third of New Brunswick residents who were previously without broadband access having already signed-up with Xplornet in just over twelve months from our original announcement with the province” said Mr. Barrett.

“With complete broadband coverage, New Brunswick residents and businesses are fully empowered to productively participate in the global economy.”

“Barrett is delighted by the successful completion of this project, and excited to continue to roll-out our Xplornet services – with the participation of local communities and governments – in other parts of the country to all Canadians.  Because we know great things can happen when we are all connected.”
