Ku-band by HughesNet

The Ku-band service, powered by HughesNet, uses the Ku-band frequency in order broadcast service over a wide "footprint." In Canada, HughesNet uses one large beam to cover the entire country.

Equipment

In order to receive the Ku-band service powered by HughesNet, the customer must have an outdoor unit (ODU) - satellite dish ranging from 74 cm to 2.4 m - located somewhere on the premises as well as an indoor unit (IDU) - satellite modem - which is connected to the customer's computer.
