What is the free local calling area associated with my
number?
In order to determine the free local calling areas for any
telephone number, please follow the steps below.
- Go to http://www.localcallingguide.com/.
- Click on "area code/prefix" located in the right
column, or click on "Search Area Code/Prefix/OCN" under
the Search list. These options are circled in red in the screen
shot below:
- Enter the area code in the box marked "NPA" and enter the
exchange in the box marked "NXX". (In this example, we will search
for Grande Prairie 780-833.)
- Click on the "Submit" button.
- Click on the "NPA/NXX". (In this example, "780-833".)
- A list of all exchanges will be displaed. These are
the exchanges to which you can make free local outbound
calls from your exchange. (In this example, the telephone number
"780-833" can make free local outbound calls to all other
exchanges in Grande Prairie, as well as the exchanges in Wembley,
Sexsmith, Beaverlodge, Hythe, Clairmont, Rycroft, Woking, and
Debolt.)
- To view the list of exchanges that may make free local
inbound calls to your number, click on "Reverse Direction".
(Typically, they are the same as outbound.)
